The official name is dominican republic, whose capital is Santo Domingo. 

The country is located in the Archipelago of the Greater Antilles and in the eastern part of the island hispaniola, It has an area of 48,422 square kilometers and a current population of inhabitants, 11,218,201. 

Both by area and population, the Dominican Republic is the second largest country in the Caribbean, only after Cuba.

What makes the Dominican Republic stand out?

Discovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus, the Dominican Republic boasts a fascinating history, exciting museums and cultural experiences such as music, art and festivals; as well as a wide variety of Dominican specialties such as cigars, rum, chocolate, coffee, merengue, amber and larimar.

The official language is Spanish and the currency is the Dominican peso.

Most restaurants, shops and hotels accept international credit cards. The value-added tax, or ITBIS, is 18%.

Visa Information

Most visitors who arrive in the Dominican Republic by air, including those coming from the United States, Canada, united Kingdom, European Union, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mexico,.

Every foreign citizen entering the Dominican Republic, for tourism purposes only, must have a valid passport during their stay and departure from the country.

VISAS

The Dominican Republic issues tourist, business, work, student and residence visas. Tourist visas can be issued for one or more entries. 

Anyone, regardless of nationality, can visit the Dominican Republic if they are a legal resident , or if they have one of the following valid visas in their passport: United States, Canada, United Kingdom or Schengen ,many countries in South America, Central America, Japan, Israel, etc. do not need a visa to enter the country

Travelers who do not have a passport or visa from the countries mentioned above or from other authorized countries, will need to apply for a visa. 

To issue a visa, the passport must be valid for at least six (6) months.

E-TICKET

The new electronic form replaces the Sworn Declaration of Traveler’s Health, Customs Declaration and International Boarding/Disembarkation Pass forms.

 Passengers will need to complete an arrival form and a departure form and the system will generate two QR codes. 

The E-Ticket can be completed before the trip or before going through Migration at the Dominican airport.

 We recommend filling out the forms at least 72 hours before the trip, printing or taking a screenshot of the QR code and having it handy on arrival for Customs authorities to scan. 

The QR code will not be scanned during checkout, but it is a confirmation that the form was completed successfully. 

If you need to make a change to the form you will need to fill it out again.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

As of April 23, 2022, all passengers and crew members do not need to present a COVID-19 vaccination card, or PCR or antigen tests to enter the Dominican Republic or to enter resorts, any establishment or to receive services, such as excursions. Passengers and crew will no longer be randomly tested for COVID-19 upon arrival in the Dominican Republic. However, where required, random testing operations may be carried out. Passengers who present their Vaccination Card will be exempt from random tests.

The Dominican Republic has eight international airports, five cruise destinations, and a variety of marinas for ships and yachts of all sizes, as well as smaller airports for private jets.

 Because this is such a large and diverse island, it is important to choose the arrival airport to match the final destination of your stay.
